IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TOY TOWN FAMILIES:
Welcome to the end of a very different school year. The teacher’s continue to work hard to support the academic and emotional needs of your children during this unpredictable time, and we know and understand that some families are overwhelmed with aspects of virtual learning. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. It has been new territory for all of us.
All students of Toy Town Elementary will be promoted to the next grade level. Teachers have already begun collaborating to discuss standards that will need to be addressed when the school year begins in the fall, and each student will be assessed to determine the best learning approach. Plans will be put in place to individualize instruction to meet each student’s needs.
As we approach the end of the scheduled school year on June 15th, teachers by nature are social and caring people, so this closure has been extremely difficult for them. I cannot express how proud I am of our teachers, students, and families for all your hard work and dedication. Everyone has stepped up to meet this new virtual environment and worked together to make it as streamlined as possible. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Teachers’ were able to work in their classrooms on a staggered schedule to gather student belongings and organize the classrooms they abruptly left on March 11th. We now want to provide families the opportunity to pick up items that may have been left behind. Please look at the schedule below to determine when you can come to Toy Town to retrieve your child’s belongings. Weather permitting we will have tables set up outside (if raining, tables will be in the front hallway) with student items labeled by classroom, as well as handing out the second trimester report cards. Keep in mind there will be no grades for the third trimester due to the school closure. If you were provided with a Chromebook from the school, please bring it with you that day.
You will need to practice “social distancing” and wear a mask when you exit your vehicle. Please be patient if other families are already at the tables. Scheduled teachers will be there to greet and support you during this process. If you have siblings not scheduled on the same day, simply pick one of the dates and we will accommodate you in getting any items you need. Again, look closely at date and time of your child’s teacher:
